Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role: Division: Manufacturing Engineering Position Description: The Diagnosis Team is a centralised activity to define customer warranty problems in a way that resolving teams can understand and act fast. The information gained from a data defined input to our team is used to generate deeper investigation cross functionally and throughout the world as necessary. The team also operate a Diagnosis Centre comprising its own workshop and office based at MIRA Nuneaton where they can replicate failures and test parts working collaboratively with suppliers and engineers. - Inspecting, testing and reporting on failed/fatigued components returned from Warranty. - Generate and update test plans to diagnose components/ system faults and to replicate the failure mode identified in warranty. - Evaluation of engineering drawings, specifications, test methods, DFMEA, Control Plan. - Execution of test plans: utilizing vehicles, modules and simulators being able to evaluate the results of the tests. A test track and workshop facilities are part of site where the team is based. - Instrumenting and using data acquisition methods on whole vehicles and/or vehicle components. - Verification of correct diagnostic tool operation and acceptance testing of the diagnostic tools. - Processing test data, generating reports and presenting results to relevant engineering personnel. - Lead projects creation up to Standard Problem Definition (D2 Step in 8D Process) using Problem Solving Techniques. - Reporting and Investigation of issues (8D Format) working with engineering teams to define warranty issues. - Lead project review meetings with the architecture team to ensure project is completed on time. - Must be prepared to work from our manufacturing Plants for some of the week and travel between plants will be essential. Skills Required: - Inspecting, testing and reporting on failed/fatigued components returned from Warranty. - Generate and update test plans to diagnose components/ system faults and to replicate the failure mode identified in warranty. - Execution of test plans: utilizing vehicles, diagnostic tool, modules and simulators being able to evaluate the results of the tests. Experience Required: - Proficiency in one or more of Chassis / Powertrain / Electrical / Body / Vehicle Engineering disciplines. - Experience of automotive electrical architecture and diagnostic functionality - Good working knowledge of automotive communication systems including CAN J1939, LIN bus etc. - Proven Diagnostic skills and experience having knowledge of testing criteria and execution based on Warranty Analysis. - Able to develop detailed component/ system test plans for internal and external customers. - Create and manage processes that will be used to validate test system performance and repeatability. - Demonstrative knowledge and experience working with Engineering Requirements, Testing Specifications and component drawings. - Interpret test results, manage and control test data and communicate test results with Project Teams. - Proven experience of Problem Solving methodology and execution. - Communication skills are very important; strong oral and written skills are critical. Must be able to communicate clearly with the design team and able to generate deliverable reports to our customers. - Enthusiastic and self-motivated; able to work alone with minimum guidance, but also be able to operate effectively as part of a team. - Excellent attention to detail, right-first-time attitude. - Proven ability to manage multiple assignments & projects. - Proven people and project leadership capability and ability to build & maintain effective relationships - Able to travel overseas and work from all client Midlands sites. - Familiar with workshop diagnosis systems. - Full driving licence. Experience Preferred: - Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) - Previous experience as Automotive Test & Verification Engineer - Experience of Ford/JLR Product Development & Launch processes. - Holds a degree in a technical discipline. Avionic Systems Engineer - Contract - Lincolnshire - SC Cleared Project Systems Engineers - responsible for progressing aircraft mission system projects through the design lifecycle. This position requires sound knowledge and experience of aircraft avionics, mission systems, communications, radar and avionics design on modern aircraft, with a focus on military variants and must have significant experience of working with industry on avionic and electrical system evolution. This role is ideally suited to an experienced aircraft systems engineer but may also suit ex-Service personnel with Project Team experience in an Avionics role. Main Duties: The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of the engineering design lifecycle, communicating across all business areas to plan resolution activities and will report to the Lead Project Engineer. Progressing the design changes though the development lifecycle. Producing design artefacts in progression of the design. Working closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). Reviewing and analysing data provided by the OEMs. Developing modification proposals with OEMs for Aircraft Avionic and Mission system modifications in accordance with regulatory requirements. Developing design solutions that meet customer requirements in accordance with Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Articles. Candidate Requirements: Essential: Degree in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering discipline or equivalent aircraft experience. Proven knowledge and experience with the design and support of avionic and mission systems. The applicant must have significant experience working with industry on avionic system evolution. Experience with working within an aircraft design environment and progressing changes through the design life cycle. Understanding of RAF Aircraft Air and Support Documents. Understanding of military aircraft design regulations including MAA RA's. Strong focus on process with the ability to develop new and improve existing procedures within the existing airworthiness framework. Flexibility to travel to support meetings. Desirable: Recent and proven experience in a design support role on military aircraft avionic systems. Demonstrable technical experience on a military aircraft programme. Practical aircraft integration experience including knowledge of factors affecting installed performance of electrical systems such as loss budget, EMI/EMC, connector and termination selection, software integration etc. Liaison with OEM's to support defect investigations and corrective actions. Line Up Aviation are currently looking for a SMW to join our client based in Prestwick for a one month contract with the high possibility of extension. You will be required to carry out flush repairs to slat leading edge skins and must be capable of making the repair parts themselves, using standard workshop equipment (rollers etc.) Also be able to interpret SRM instructions to accomplish a quality product. Current Human Factors is highly desirable. £18 per hour. The contract will run for a minimum 1 month but we expect it to be a roll on contract.
