The Job The development of real time systems for use within the Commercial Vehicle Electronic Control Systems, controlling diesel fuel injection equipment and other integrated engine and vehicle electronic systems. Systems Design * Capture, analysis and implementation of customer requirements * Definition and review of system requirements (including sensor/actuators and control strategies meeting industrial standards and legislative requirements. * Model the system and control implementations to verify the designed solutions to the requirements. * Produce executable specifications using Mathworks/Matlab toolsets. * Produce and review implementation specifications that will be used by the Software Engineering team to produce the required software solutions. * Perform safety analyses' (hazard analysis, safety testing, FMEA etc). * Engage with the engineering teams to ensure the maximum reuse of ideas, concepts and strategies * Work with hardware teams to cascade current and future requirements into future hardware programs Requirements * Educated to degree level * Experience in embedded applications/Systems * Have 2 or more years' experience of developing real time systems (ideally with diesel applications & associated fuel injection equipment) * Good working knowledge of Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow * Configuration management experience (preferably Clearcase) * CAN/CANalyzer, J1939, KWP/KWP2000, UDS and Diagnostics usage and protocols * Whitebox/Blackbox, Functional and regression testing/validation * Strong process discipline * Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK * Desirable additional characteristics Experience of: * Automotive engineering and MISRA coding Guidelines * Multi-processor/Multi-core developments * PRQA(QAC), Clearquest, GNU toolchain * On and Off shore Team Leading Experience * Engine Test/Test Bed/Calibration Matchtech acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers and is part of Gattaca Plc. A Project Engineer is required to join a leading automotive OEM based in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Position Description: The successful candidate will work within the Fastener Engineering Team (close collaboration with PD, Purchase, Manufacturing) and liaise closely with the preferred suppliers to support cross-carline functions. Responsibilities include: * Provide technical fastener and fastening guidance to engineers working on vehicle design & development. * Assist in the creation, development and maintenance of fastener & Finish standards and specifications. * Provide support in the development of engineering drawings and the creation of part numbers and numbering conventions. * Development of the 'Value Fasteners' commonality initiative, in support of part count reduction/rationalisation. * Fastener database - data upload & maintenance and ability to search & analyse output. Skills Required: 1 Knowledge of and working experience of fasteners and associated finishes in an Automotive (or similar) engineering environment. 2 Effective communication skills essential - both verbal & written, being computer literate with experience of mainframe IT systems. 3 Self-motivated & able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision, with a proven ability to work within strict timing constraints. Experience Required: Must have a sound technical/engineering background. Experience in Fasteners, Materials, Mechanical Engineering or an engineering discipline would be advantageous. Knowledge of fastening products, surface finishing and assembly techniques desirable. An ability to analyse problems / generate solutions and achieve results, making effective use of all resources available within the company and supplier base. Highly motivated and enthusiastic, with ability to multi-task and a willingness to learn. Education Required: Engineering qualification desirable but not essential Additional Information: Ability to prioritise workload and lead issue resolution either individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
