Business Analyst - Business Design

Job Summary
The current operational environment for CT is dynamic, and CT Policing must continually respond and change to the threat and therefore change is therefore at the heart of CT. The Change Pillar within CTPHQ is responsible for overseeing change activity across the CT Network.

The Business Design team within the Change Pillar are fundamental to the delivery of effective change, providing business design services across change initiatives. Responsible for delivering design from strategy to execution, across all three levels (conceptual, logical and physical), the Business Design team ensure the development of coherent operating models for the CT Network.

Business Analysts undertake a vital role within the Business Design team undertaking analysis and design activity to develop innovative and efficient solutions to priority business problems and opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst (Band B), Business Analysts will be deployed across a range of change pillar initiatives to provide effective design services.

A truly mixed economy team of police staff, contractors and consultants the Business Design team are a forward thinking, innovative unit, responsible for developing high quality operating model designs that significantly contribute to the effective and efficient mitigation of threat, risk and harm.

Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:

*Undertake analysis to assist in the scoping of change activities, identifying and articulating business problems and opportunities to set direction for required change
*Conduct analysis across the CTP Network to design effective operating model solutions for priority change initiatives within the Change Pillar portfolio
*Deliver design from strategy to execution, across all three levels, (conceptual, logical and physical), to ensure the development of coherent operating models, working closely with stakeholders in NCTPHQ and the CT Policing Network
*Assist the Senior Business Analyst in the development and maintenance of business design templates aligned to the CTP Business Design Handbook (owned by the SDA)
*Represent Business Design at relevant change initiative meetings and boards, providing subject matter expertise

Key Skills

Essential

*Good understanding of all levels of design (conceptual, logical and physical)
*Experience of undertaking business analyst activity using formal methodologies and approaches, including collecting and analysing complex data in order to provide concise and meaningful recommendations
*Experience of developing business operating models
*Experience in reviewing and enhancing business cases and detailed design documents throughout the project life cycle with a good understanding of the change life cycle and business case development
*Experience of working with various stakeholders within a large organization including managing expectations and dealing with conflicting requirements and priorities, with the ability to identify and engage stakeholders at all levels (internal and external)
*Understanding of the CT Policing Network and partner agencies

Desirable

*Professional Business Analysis qualification by examination (eg BCS BA Diploma)
*Experience of working in a policing and/or security environment
*Experience of building confidence with stakeholders and relationships at all levels

Job summary:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the role holder will be working in the warehouse based in Northampton in the UK. The main responsibility is store inbound, picking, packing, labelling, outbound, checking, cycle count, stock taking operation as required on the shift, and report any issues that arise, such as damaging, loss, shortage and missing items.

The ideal role holder must have experience working in a warehouse in the UK and hold a forklift license - both Reach and Counterbalance.

The role holder must follow the health and safety regulations.

The working hours are 40 per week between Monday and Friday with fixed time scheduling confirmed with the warehouse manager.

Person Specification:

  • Hold Forklift Truck (FLT) license - Both Reach and Counterbalance
  • Experience with working in a UK Warehouse
  • Intermediate level in written and verbal in English.

Key responsibilities:

  • Receiving and issuing goods to/from external suppliers to complete all relevant paperwork to maintain control over stock levels.
  • Loading and unloading packages goods, scan, sort and label them as required, and report any issues that arise, such as damaged packages.
  • Carrying out visual inspections of departmental Fork Lift Trucks at the beginning of each shift in order to ensure full functioning of the vehicle in line with Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Maintaining an accurate account of all goods received, transferred, issued or dispatched, in order to achieve high accuracy levels using barcode scanners and WMS/TMS systems.
  • Storing goods in appropriate locations, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and updating to the supervisor by the end of the shift.
  • Issuing goods in efficient and timely manner using Bendi Forklift/Tow Tractor/Multi Level Order Picker/reach truck.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and Health & Safety working practices in order to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment for everyone in the warehouse.
  • Contributing in a flexible manner in order to enhance the overall performance of the Warehouse.
  • Driving FLT is a part of this job and assisting ad-hoc projects and analysis as may reasonably be required.
  • Ensuring all data and records are kept up to date and following the GDPR guideline in a confidential and professional manner.
