Ideally based around Glasgow/North Ayrshire, you should be an experienced Site Manager, with a minimum of 5 years in the role, ideally having progressed from a joinery trade background. You should have significant experience of working on social or private housing projects, and have dealt with housing associations. They are in need of one or two engineers to supervise drilling sites in and around the central belt, Ayrshire etc with a view to starting on or around 3 February. We have an immediate contract requirement for a H & S Specialist to work for our prestigious onshore wind client. You will provide independent, authoritative advice, support & assistance to the Line organisation on the function of Health and Safety, to ensure the company meets its statutory obligations and achieve excellence by implementing good practice to achieve high levels of Health and Safety management. The role will be based predominantly at a construction site in the UK. You will:- Support the Business Unit to continually improve their H&S performance Implementation of the Health and Safety management system in the area of activities being supported by this position Communication and implementation of Health and Safety programs within the supported area of activities. Development, communication and follow up of specific Health and Safety measures for the site operations. Advise and support the construction site on implementation of the QHSE Management System in accordance with ISO 45001. Monitor and Report on relevant Health and Safety issues Communication of HSE programs for the implementation of HSE strategies, plans, regulations and standards within the supported area of activities. Support the project team to fulfil their HSE responsibilities Ensure accidents/incidents are reported and investigated in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements. Promote and support the continual improvement of HSE in the areas/activities covered. You will:- be able to advise and support the site to ensure high H & S standards are met on site and that contractors achieve a similar standard of at least legal compliance. Review when requested, risk assessments, method statements, HSE plans and other documents for employees and/or contractors working on site. Liaise and share information within the HSE Team and the Line organization. Carry out HSE Inspections and Audits when required and on completion produce written reports. Conduct HS walks on site with management and contractors Manage coordination between client, contractors and third parties according to the HSE plan Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to project team and contractors. Manage HSE observations and the reporting process to ensure satisfactory close outs. Gather information for monthly H&S KPI reporting Ensure the site management review and test the emergency response procedure Attend site and team meetings Review and monitor HSE plans and all relevant documentation received from contractors and monitor client & contractor H&S performance Education/Qualification:- Ideally candidates will be degree qualified & have a NEBOSH General certificate or Diploma Experience:- Several years full time experience in HSE role Experience managingcontractors as client and/or principal contractor Experience with HSE management systems HSE auditing experience (9001), 14001, 18001 (ISO45001) or similar Experience with Client / Contractor relationships & stakeholder management Construction experience from within the wind industry Skills:- You will have a strong technical background with a focus on workplace safety. Experience in working in a high hazard industry such as construction / power industry. Experience with Client / Contractor relationships & Management Able to develop working relationships with fellow employees, contractors and external stakeholders. Good communication skills both verbally and written in English.
