AAMH has 30 years’ experience of supporting people in South Ayrshire with lived experience of poor mental health, offering services to assist them on their personal road to recovery. Our aim is to continue to offer pathways to improved health and wellbeing and independent living in an atmosphere of respect, dignity and safety whilst acknowledging each individual’s choices and experiences.
Strathyre House is the AAMH Headquarters and Hub from which the team provides a venue for AAMH courses and workshops; in addition, an extensive programme of outreach activity is delivered across South Ayrshires 6 localities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ayr Action for Mental Health for a Service Manager to take a lead role in ensuring that those living with poor mental health across South Ayrshire are supported to take part in activities and have their voices heard.
Under the direction of the board of directors the post holder will lead Ayr Action for Mental Health to deliver a range of participation opportunities for people who experience poor mental health across South Ayrshires 6 localities. The post holder will provide day to day managerial support and supervision of Ayr Action for Mental Health Hub supervisor, and associated teams of project and sessional workers.
The post holder must be an excellent communicator and leader with the ability to maintain and create effective relationships with individuals, communities and partner organisations while actively promoting Ayr Action for Mental Health. The post holder will be responsible for managing and developing the service within the allocated budget.
They will understand the complexities of poor mental health and how to support the teams they manage to engage sensitively and respectfully with individuals and groups to improve wellbeing. The end result of this work will be to deliver real change for, and with those with poor mental health across South Ayrshire.
