Customer Support Officer - Document Processing Salary: £24,350 Location: Canary Wharf Contract: Full Time, 6-month contract with chance of permanency We are working on behalf of the organisation responsible for regulating the security industry who play a key role in ensuring public safety by regulating the security industry and currently manage over 400,000 active licences. We are looking for Customer Support Officers to work in their Identity & Document Handling Centre who will help to ensure that only appropriate individuals gain certification to work in the security industry. You will support document handling and identity validation to processes for all incoming documents with specific responsibilities including: Being the first point of call for all incoming and outgoing mail and fulfilment requests from customers Authenticating documents are appropriate and follow agreed procedure for discovery of fraudulent documents. Process, scan and return all documents and complete identity comparison checks for all applicants. To obtain and accurately record evidence to support all decisions that may be appealed at court. Ensure procedures and practices comply with the clients Policies, the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, the Human Rights Act, and all relevant legislation To achieve team and individual performance targets through delivery of individual and team objectives To work alongside the clients Decisions, Intelligence and Risk and Partnership and Interventions teams to establish and develop cases of non-compliance, non-conformance or breaches of the Private Security Industry Act 2001. Ensure procedures and practices comply with relevant legislation. We are looking for individuals from with an innovative approach to problem solving, experience of document handling, undertaking challenging conversations on the phone or face to face and a basic knowledge of primary identity documents combined with the ability to work in a task orientated processing function. You will also need to be able to understand and interpret legislation and explain it to customers so effective communication skills are essential that you will also need to use to persuade and influence others. We would be especially keen to hear from you if you also have experience of managing your own workload and meeting tight deadlines combined with being able to work effectively with others.
