PLC Software Developer position (3-6 months contract) - offering market-leading and innovative solutions for intralogistics sector

Would you like to work on challenging projects where you take part in all phases of a development program? And would you like to test your own creations in our Client's Innovation Centre? If so, the position of Software Developer (PLC) would be the ideal job for you.
This position is based in the Research&Development department. You will develop new products and technologies in order to strengthen position and differentiate the products.
Responsibilities:
For the parcel customers we have developed specific products which sort packages with high speed and flexibility, also known as ''Line Sorter''. This product is controlled by a PLC in combination with several local embedded controllers and applied globally. For Europe and the rest of the world there is a Siemens variant and for the US market there is an Allen Bradley implementation.
The Allan Bradley implementation requires a major update. Your challenge is to ensure that this version gets to the same functionality and quality as Siemens version.
You will perform this assignment is close co-operation with a senior PLC engineer. He will guide you on a daily base. To validate the updates there is a test environment available which provides an emulation of the real equipment, supported with a GUI environment. Next to that there are several physical test systems available in the Advanced Development Centre.
The final product library will be used as building blocks by the Engineering department, who will subsequently integrate them into systems for the worldwide clients. Where necessary, you will support your colleagues in this integration process.
Requirements:
You have medior/senior experience with PLC applications (preferably Siemens with STL knowledge & Allan Bradly) and electromechanical applications.
Good understanding of automation and machine control including safety regulations.
Able to read and understand electrical drawings/diagrams.
Understanding of configuration management tooling (Jira/Git)
If required travel worldwide, up to a maximum of 10-20%.
