My client is seeking a highly motivated Deputy Commissioning Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering commissioning projects that comply with national legal standards, client requirements, technical specifications, and applied standards. You will provide crucial commissionability input throughout the design and construction processes.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision of Commissioning Technicians under your responsibility.
Ensure adherence to the Commissioning Quality Management System and that all team members apply procedures, codes, and standards consistently.
Interface with Client teams and other project disciplines, including Design Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Construction, and Operations.
Oversee functional inputs to Commissioning Deliverables and monitor day-to-day progress, reporting as required.
Contribute to the production and review of Commissioning Documentation, including test documentation and reports.
Assist in identifying Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) requirements, reviewing vendor test documentation, and overseeing vendor testing.
Ensure all mandatory test prerequisites are in place and carry out Risk Assessments and produce Safe Systems of Work.
Lead the execution of commissioning tests to schedule and manage the satisfactory completion of all related records and control of raw data.
Review and accept completed test records and compile Commissioning LTQR packages.
Provide subject matter expertise in your discipline and contribute to the daily planning of commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Academic Requirements:
Level 4 Qualification (e.g., HNC) preferred. Relevant commissioning experience may be considered in lieu of qualification.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
In-date CSCS/ECS Affiliated cards in a relevant discipline.
Membership of a professional institution (IET etc.) is preferred.
Security Clearance Requirements:
SC or DV Clearance is mandatory for site access. Candidates can start with BPSS but must be eligible for SC
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Experience in commissioning Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Systems.
Nuclear industry experience, particularly within AWE.
Familiarity with commissioning procedures for TCA’s, FOB’s (or CR’s), and handover processes.
Proven track record in managing a team of Principal Commissioning Engineers.
Mechanical bias is preferred.
