Salary: £80 - £90 per day

Teacher Active takes pride in collaborating with secondary schools in Telford dedicated to supporting vulnerable students with SEMH needs, which vary from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to challenging behaviours. These schools provide for children and students who exhibit disruptive behaviour, verbal and physical outbursts of frustration, and ADHD.
As a PRU Teaching Assistant, your role in collaborating with students, teachers, and therapists is vital in developing personalized support plans for each student. Your duties involve implementing strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and fostering a safe learning environment. You will assist teachers in crafting and presenting engaging lessons that cater to the individual abilities, learning styles, and requirements of each student. Additionally, you will provide consistent individual and group support to students who need extra help. In working with SEMH students, your responsibilities extend to overseeing their physical, social, and emotional well-being, ensuring a secure environment, and tailoring educational support to meet their unique needs.

The ideal TA / Teaching Assistant should have the following:
Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment
Good communication skills
A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
Strong behaviour management skills
