Senior Planner (6-Month+ Contract)
Location: Bury St Edmonds 1 day a week 4 days working from home
Duration: 6 months + (with strong potential for extension)

About the Role:
Join our client’s consultancy team as a Senior Planner and be part of the critical major infrastructure rail-based project (substations), this is a long-term contract opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Performance Analysis: Compare and measure project performance against previous forecasts, produce detailed reports based on earned value analysis, critical path analysis, resource allocation, and look-ahead schedules.
* Dashboard Reporting: Design and implement dashboard reports to monitor progress, analyse schedules, and identify trends to enhance project maturity.
* Contractor Assessment: Evaluate contractor’s time impact and delay claims due to instructed changes, providing comprehensive analysis to the Project Manager for accurate implementation of compensation events.
* Schedule Management: Create, develop, and maintain project schedules throughout the entire lifecycle, from the Development Consent Order stages to tendering and high-level construction programming.
* Procurement Schedule: Maintain and update the procurement schedule weekly, adding new projects and providing status updates to the commercial team.
* Risk Management: Contribute to program risk assessment, analysis, and the development and implementation of mitigation measures.
* Cost Forecasting: Collaborate with Commercial Managers to monitor and forecast schedule costs, carrying out re-targets or re-baselines when necessary.
Job requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 5 years in project planning, ideally within large infrastructure or energy projects.
* Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
* Skills: Strong analytical skills, with experience in earned value analysis, critical path analysis, and schedule management.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
* Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC contracts and construction programming.
