About Us:
Our client is a leading developer in the renewable energy sector, specialising solely in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Their innovative solutions are helping to shape a sustainable future by enabling the efficient storage and use of renewable energy. The organisation currently have 6 BESS projects on site.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who will focus on post-contract duties within Battery Energy Storage System projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial success and contractual compliance of the projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to manage costs, control budgets, and handle all post-contract activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all post-contract quantity surveying duties, including cost control, variations, and final account settlements.
* Prepare, review, and update project budgets and forecasts.
* Analyse and negotiate contractual claims and variations.
* Conduct cost assessments and valuations for ongoing work.
* Liaise with subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
* Prepare and submit detailed financial reports to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Assist in dispute resolution and provide advice on contractual matters.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of all financial transactions related to projects.
* Support the project team in delivering projects within the agreed budget and timeframes.
Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the BESS or renewable energy sector
* Strong knowledge of post-contract duties, including cost management, contract administration, and claims negotiation.
* Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
