Role: IT Officer
Based: Remote
Rate: £20 - £22 ph umb
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Temp until March 2025
Hours: 35 hours per week (condensed hours over 4 days considered)
Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity, is looking to recruit an IT Officer to play a key role in ensuring that every individual in the organisation is equipped with the right tools, software, and IT knowledge to perform at their best
Synopsis of duties:
Provide technical guidance and support to employees, resolving issues remotely
Ensure IT support is delivered in a non-judgmental, supportive and user-orientated way
Perform a workflow analysis of IT software and hardware usage in each team, ensuring optimisation of systems and processes by assessing pain points, understanding how users currently work and providing solutions to increase productivity
Management of assets, ensuring all IT equipment is fit for purpose, properly tracked, purchased and/or disposed of, in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way
Working closely with HR to ensure equipment needs for upcoming new starters are met
Review of existing software licences, assessing fitness for purpose and relevance to role
Provide induction training for new starters, ensuring confidence using Microsoft Suite, including Teams and SharePoint
Liaising with and building good working relationships with external IT providers
IT and Cybersecurity – building compliance and awareness within the organisation
Advising on new software and systems, imparting knowledge of best practices and trends
Creation of clear, user friendly documentation and IT guides/FAQs
Ensuring a seamless, end-to-end IT experience
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience in IT Support/Operations in a similar sized organisation.
Remote working technology (systems and platforms), ability to integrate systems with
each other to ensure a seamless experience.
Ability to provide general IT and more technical guidance to users with varying levels of computer literacy.
Able to see the big picture and how issues relate to each other. A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, ready to optimise IT processes.
Good prioritisation skills to ensure a great user experience whilst managing expectations. Awareness of what is urgent and what is important.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities to liaise effectively with staff, managers, and stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly respond to change.
