Type: Fixed term contract

Location: Swindon area
Pay: £123.79 - £138.87 per day
Our client is a successful multi-academy trust which specialise in running special schools for children that have a wide range of special education needs (SEND.) One of the trusts many facets is to provide respite care and this role is to lead the team which facilitate this offer. The operation & offer is based in and around the Swindon area to meet the needs of the particular children & young peoples and their families.
Ideally the right applicant will fulfil all of the essential skills in terms of qualifications & experience. Essential Skills
Qualifications
Level 3 H&S Care, Childcare or similar
Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy minimum
Undertake mandatory Safeguarding training
Experience
Experience of working with CYPs with SEND in an education or care setting
Be highly motivated, efficient and effective at managing a team of childcare professionals
Strong ICT Skills
Ability to make and communicate decisions
Experience of managing a team including the ability to motivate
Experience in training employees and the ability to develop a team to deliver its maximum potential
Be willing to lead on Safeguarding and health and safety procedures and have the confidence and authority to act as DSL
Have experience and understanding of practice and principles for Safeguarding children, young people or vulnerable adults
Strong assertive decision maker
Be willing to attend and contribute to meetings with external professionals
Skills & Abilities
Effective communicator who is able to lead a team
Ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging behaviour and model deescalation strategies
Flexibility and adaptability
Be able to work as part of a team
Be willing to use initiative and be willing to support the professional development of others
Model professional communication with children, young people and other adults.
Ability to provide feedback on CYPs participation & achievement
Respect confidentiality
Have a sense of humour
Conflict resolution skills
Ability to create a timetable for young people’s placement
Aware of time pressures and the need for effective time management.
Promote independence
Clean and full driving licence
