IT Project Manager
Colchester - Onsite
***Candidates must live locally (North Essex/South Suffolk) as this role is 5 days onsite***
We're delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business who are going through a period of growth and change. They're looking for an IT Project Manager with extensive experience to join them on a 3 month contract (with possibility of extension)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
To deliver an IT improvement programme including:
Technology
ERP Migration to Azure
Reporting transfer to BI
Several server migrations to Azure some with vendor involvement
A new CCTV system (third party install)
To facilitate the closure of a third-party datacentre post required migrations
Process
Improvements to software licensing and asset tracking
Server and EUD patching regime implementation
Documentation of existing technology estate, including network and services, and processes as already identified
Compliance
Manage the recertification to Cyber Essentials Plus once the IT improvement programme if complete.
Effectively engage the local IT team, central IT Teams and vendors as appropriate, to deliver the required outcomes. Where necessary utilise the team expertise to define an appropriate end state and delivery mechanism for complex or undefined service elements.
To manage the plan, the dependencies and risks, resolving these whenever possible and escalating appropriately if needed
To manage any budgets ensuring good cost control
To develop a lightweight and effective reporting mechanism that keeps local and central IT stakeholders appraised of progress.
Manage all vendor relationships to deliver on contract expectation and value for money.
Collaborate with the Group IT function to leverage corporate resources, expertise, and technologies, ensuring alignment with overall IT governance, architecture, and security standards.
Person Specification/Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
A qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience.
Experience managing a series of changes simultaneously and alongside larger projects.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven project delivery, vendor and contract management skills.
Experience implementing lightweight project processes pragmatically and aligned with central IT.
An understanding of cyber security frameworks i.e. Cyber Essentials Plus.
