About the role: Are you a hands-on, reliable, and dedicated individual looking to take on a rewarding role in a vibrant school community? We are seeking a School Caretaker for a charming primary school in Redbridge, London. This position is perfect for someone with experience in handyman duties and who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where every day brings new tasks and responsibilities. As our School Caretaker, you will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the school’s daily operations. From overseeing the school’s maintenance and security to keeping our grounds and buildings safe and presentable, your contributions will help foster a positive learning environment for both staff and students.
Working hours are 1 PM to 6:30 PM, giving you a unique opportunity to support the school’s end-of-day activities. This includes locking up and securing the premises, managing on-site repairs, and overseeing the safety of the school building and grounds."

Application Requirements:
• Previous experience in a similar caretaker or handyman role, ideally within a school environment.
• Strong understanding of basic maintenance, repair work, and practical DIY skills.
• Ability to work independently, managing your own workload efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to health and safety.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out general maintenance, minor repairs, and practical tasks throughout the school.
• Ensuring the premises are well-maintained, clean, and safe for use by staff and pupils.
• Handling security duties, including locking and unlocking the school at the end of the day and monitoring entry points.
• Managing stock for cleaning supplies and ordering new materials when needed.
• Setting up rooms for school activities and events as required.
