We offer a unique opportunity for a Team Manager—Social Care Qualified to manage the staff team and the associated financial and physical resources efficiently and effectively, ensuring a high standard of professional practice within the team and positively using the Service’s information systems.
Responsibility
To be responsible for managing and supervising a team of locality-based qualified and unqualified Social Care staff delivering a range of services to safeguard vulnerable children and promote good outcomes for children in need and children looked after, working within the legislative and statutory planning frameworks, Government Guidance, core values and strategic aims, and the Service’s policies and procedure.
Qualification – Essential
* GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
* Dip SW/CQSW or equivalent
* Must be a registered social worker (evidence of this will be requested).
* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting
* Substantial experience as a Social Care Practitioner with Children & Families in a multicultural environment.
* Knowledge and experience of current social work legislation, issues and good practice concerning children and families.
* Ability to manage budgets and other departmental resources effectively.
* Ability to plan, set priorities and manage time well.
* Practical analytical and assessment skills and proactive problem-solving ability.
* Ability to manage safeguarding investigations and chair and facilitate interagency strategy meetings.
* Ability to provide leadership to ensure effective teamwork
* Ability to use information technology as an effective management tool in compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* Ability to manage quality, performance, recruitment, discipline, supervision, complaints and grievances.
* Understanding of the principles and processes of Service Planning and Best Value.
* Ability to chair meetings and represent the Service.
* Ability to work effectively with service users, various agencies, and professional groups to deliver good outcomes for children.
* Ability to promote equality of opportunity in service delivery and employment practice.
* Ability and commitment to undertake and contribute to ongoing development and training.
* A commitment to high-quality child-centred services and continuous improvement.
* Willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ and work outside regular office hours and across structural boundaries to produce good outcomes for children.
* Honesty and integrity.

* Five Years of References.
* Enhanced CRB/DBS Within Last 12 Months
