Joiner - Ongoing Contract at Heysham 2 Power Station
Location: Heysham 2 Nuclear Power Station, Lancashire
Contract Type: Ongoing (Full-time)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate start available (subject to security clearance)
About the Role:NRL is currently recruiting for a Joiner to work at Heysham 2 Power Station, a vital part of the UK's nuclear energy infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled joiners interested in a career within the nuclear industry, offering long-term stability and valuable experience on high-profile projects.
The role involves working on highly regulated and safety-critical infrastructure. As a result, you’ll need a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to health and safety. The ability to interpret and follow technical drawings is essential, as you’ll need to ensure precise execution of all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation of fire doors in line with current fire safety standards.
Completion of 2nd fix carpentry work, including detailed finishing tasks.
Conducting minor woodwork repairs and adjustments.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings to complete tasks accurately.
Ensuring a high standard of safety at all times in accordance with both company policies and industry regulations.
Collaborating with other trades on-site to ensure seamless project delivery.Requirements:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery (or equivalent qualification).
Previous experience in fire door installation and 2nd fix joinery is highly advantageous.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
A strong awareness and commitment to health and safety practices.
A professional and proactive approach to completing work to a high standard and within set deadlines.Additional Information:
Security Clearance: Due to the sensitive nature of the nuclear site, all candidates must undergo a Counter Terrorism Check (CTC). This includes a DBS check and the requirement to provide references covering the last three years of employment.
Drug and Alcohol Testing: Routine drug and alcohol tests will be carried out regularly on-site to ensure a safe working environment.
Working Environment: As a joiner working within the nuclear industry, you’ll be part of a team ensuring critical infrastructure operates safely and effectively. This will include working in compliance with strict safety protocols.
