Empowering Learning are looking for a SEND Teacher to work in a SEND/PMLD Provision in the Burton Area. The ideal candidate should have experience of working with SEND children, though this is not essential. The ability to teach a range of age groups and individual needs would be highly advantageous.
The ideal candidate will:
QTS or Equivalent
High level of understanding different SEND and learning styles
Have the ability to teach across the age groups.
Knowledge of primary and secondary age curriculum expectations
Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
Have excellent behaviour management skills and PMLD Knowledge
Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.Main Responsibilities:
Teaching a range of subjects within SEND school.
Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
Possible supervising on lunch and break times
Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
Building relationships with staff and pupils
Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
Potentially lead in a subject area
Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carersBenefits of working with Empowering Learning:
