Finegreen are currently supporting the appointment of highly experienced Estates Sustainability Manager, providing sustainability and decarbonisation support for primary care in London. The postholder will work collaboratively across London’s five Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) providing expertise and support on net-zero initiatives.
This in turn will support decarbonisation within the NHS primary care estate. This role will focus on identifying and implementing decarbonisation opportunities across London’s wider healthcare infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities:
Engage directly with GPs to identify opportunities for and facilitate energy savings, decarbonisation actions and climate resilient adaptation plans;
Support the development of a primary care NZC pipeline of projects;
Work with NHS, GLA and other stakeholders to develop financing approaches to facilitate GP retrofits;
Assist ICBs and GPs with applications for funding for investment in primary care sustainability;
Support the development of business cases and other project documentation;
Act as liaison between GPs, Primary Care, ICB and other key stakeholders;
Develop a GP Green Champion network across London;
Support ICBs in the development of their Green Plans and Adaptation Plans;
Establish sustainability priorities and KPIs, ensuring alignment with national and local health policies;
Provide project management support for Green initiatives and programmes across primary care in London;
Ensure sustainability best practice is embedded in all Primary Care strategies and policies;
Develop a framework for the monitoring of performance against plans and against the net zero carbon targets;
The post holder will be expected to keep up to date with relevant sustainability and environmental developments at a national and international level;
The ideal candidate:
Qualified to a Master’s degree level in environmental management, geography or other relevant degree, or has equivalent relevant experience with additional training and/or qualifications;
IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent, Prince project management certificate or equivalent project management qualification;
Experience of leading and working across multiple organisations to deliver a joint programme;
Significant experience (typically 3+ years) in a building decarbonisation management role, ideally within healthcare, public sector, or a large, complex organization.
