Job Title: M&E Project Manager
Location: London - Hybrid - 2 days in office, 3 days WFH or on-site (depending on project needs)
Contract Length: Until March 2025 (Potential for extension)
Day Rate: £350.00 per day Inside IR35
Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Manager to join our team at a leading local authority in London. The successful candidate will manage the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of council-led projects. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility to work from home, at the town hall, or on-site depending on the stage and needs of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee M&E aspects of local authority projects, from public infrastructure to housing and building services, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with council standards.
Work with internal teams and external contractors to develop and approve mechanical and electrical designs that meet regulatory requirements and local authority guidelines.
Regularly visit sites to supervise the installation and maintenance of M&E systems, ensuring that they adhere to project specifications and safety regulations.
Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with internal council teams, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of M&E systems within broader project frameworks.
Manage project budgets related to M&E systems and provide regular updates and reports to council leadership.
Ensure all M&E installations meet local authority regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services with substantial relevant experience.
Alternatively, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field with moderate experience.
Demonstrated experience in managing M&E projects, ideally within the public sector or local authority environments.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems design and installation, along with familiarity with UK regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Willingness to work both remotely and on-site, with travel to various project locations across London as required
