About the role:
Are you a passionate and caring Teaching Assistant eager to make a difference in the lives of young children? A warm and inclusive primary school in Cheshunt is looking for an experienced Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team and provide essential support to low-achieving students and those who speak English as an additional language (EAL). This role is perfect for someone with a nurturing spirit who thrives in a diverse school environment where every child is given the opportunity to flourish. As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will be pivotal in supporting young learners to reach their full potential. Your focus will be on assisting students who require additional support, particularly those who are struggling with core subjects or learning English as an additional language. You will also play a key role in small group interventions and one-on-one booster sessions, ensuring that every child receives the attention and guidance they need to succeed. Your ability to build strong relationships with the children will help boost their confidence and love for learning.
Application Requirements:
• Has experience working with Key Stage 1 students.
• Possesses experience or familiarity with supporting EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners.
• Demonstrates a nurturing and patient approach, with a strong understanding of the unique needs of young children.
• Has the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Holds a relevant qualification or has experience in education (a Teaching Assistant qualification is a plus).
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing one-on-one or small group support to low-achieving and EAL students.
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom preparation and activities.
• Running booster and intervention sessions tailored to students’ individual needs.
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitoring and reporting on students’ progress and achievements.
