About the role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist to join our friendly and experienced team in Edmonton, London. As an SEN-TA – Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of children with ASD.
Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with pupils, helping them navigate the school day and providing one-to-one or small group support. You will assist in managing behaviours, fostering positive interactions, and encouraging independence, always tailoring your approach to meet each child’s individual needs.

Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with ASD is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques is beneficial.
• A genuine passion for working in special education and a commitment to pupil wellbeing.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with ASD in KS1 and KS2.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each pupil’s needs.
• Assist in the management of behaviours, using de-escalation strategies when necessary.
• Support pupils in developing social skills, independence, and confidence.
• Work closely with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
