About the role:
We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) with a specialism in SEMH to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, long-term role that is available immediately. You will be stepping into this role due to the expansion of our support team, reflecting our commitment to providing the best care and education for our students with SEMH needs.
As an SEN TA, you will be working in small groups or 1:1 with students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, ensuring they receive the support they need both academically and emotionally. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of these students, supporting them in their learning and helping to foster their confidence and independence. Class sizes are small, ensuring personalized attention and a strong focus on individual progress.
Application Requirements:
• A genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
• Previous experience in a similar SEN support role, especially in Key Stage 1 and 2 settings.
• Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and techniques, including managing challenging behaviors.
• A caring, patient, and resilient attitude.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs in KS1 and KS2.
• Help to develop and implement tailored learning plans and behavioral strategies in collaboration with the classroom teacher and SENCO.
• Support the emotional well-being of students, helping them to build resilience and self-esteem.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
