We are looking for a Quality Engineer to work on a fixed-term basis until January 2026 for our client who are a well-established global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components based in Central Sheffield.
The Package and work pattern for the Quality Engineer role:
* Salary: £39,000 per annum
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
* Location: Central Sheffield – Hybrid working
* Contract: Fixed term, until January 2026
* Bonus scheme

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Engineer role:
* Support the retention of key approvals: ISO9001, AS9100, AS9120 etc.
* Serve as focal point for all Quality standards (regulatory, customer specific, internal etc.)
* Support audit teams to ensure business compliance
* Act as release authority for products as needed in Europe
* Ensure supply chain compliance processes are in place and maintained
* Key decision maker in MRB process for any rejects in Europe
* Review, follow up, and answer customer complaints in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate root cause corrective actions are put in place
* Key sign off point for NPI, confirming standards are met (via FAI) and processes are considered repeatable and production ready
* Validate that training and competency plans for operational teams ensure necessary standards are met

Essential Qualifications for the Quality Engineer role:
1. Associate's degree in quality, business/marketing, or engineering
2. Working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, AS9120
3. Experience liaising with certification bodies in context of surveillance / re-cert auditsMinimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
4. Possess a Valid UK Passport and be available for occasional European travel
Desirable Qualifications:
-Degree qualified in a technical engineering field
-Membership / accreditation from professional body
-Aerospace / similar industry experience
