Career Teachers are supporting the Headteacher of a secondary school in Oldham who wish to appoint a Food Technology or Design and Technology Teacher to join them from January 2025. This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave, however, a high number of fixed term contracts at this school do become permanent.
This school are very open with regards to adjusting the time table to be more Food Technology based, or more Design and Technology based depending on the successful candidates core strengths.
This school retained their 'GOOD' Ofsted rating in January 2022 with key highlights stating: "Pupils behave sensibly around the school and in lessons. They are respectful to other pupils, staff and visitors." "Staff value the steps that leaders have taken to ease their workload and support their well-being." Senior leaders have taken radical steps to manage the workload and well-being of colleagues by reducing unnecessary burdens and bureaucracy. These actions were rated highly in the most recent staff survey, which takes place on annual basis.
The successful Design and Technology Teacher will be:
A Food Technology or Design & Technology Teacher with QTS/QTLS (ECT's will be considered)
Innovative, diligent, flexible and with a drive for improvement
A dedicated team player who develops excellent relationships with pupils and staff alike
Professional, always leading by example
committed and possess initiative with a 'can do' approach
