Role details:
We are looking for an Information Systems Solution Architect to join their Defence & Security team on a 12-month contract basis. This position offers the flexibility of 80% remote working and is open to candidates based in Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton.
The successful applicant will play a pivotal role within the Information Management (IM) department, which defines, implements, and adapts the clients IT infrastructure and IS strategy to meet business and user needs. You will provide Systems Engineering processes/lifecycle subject matter expertise and advice at all stages and investigate the appropriate application solutions for all the programme needs in the application layer working closely with the Infrastructure Architect
Key Responsibilities:
Assess needs and ideas according to the IM End to End Process or apply agile techniques as required.
Ensure project compliance with technical quality and results in collaboration with IM Delivery Teams.
Provide systems engineering process and lifecycle expertise at all stages.
Investigate appropriate application solutions for programme needs.
Interact with key partners for enterprise goals and assess compliance with enterprise standards.
Lead business case creation and participate in agile scrums where adopted.
Assist in creating feasible projects and leading design reviews.
Identify and mitigate solution risks, providing technical expertise for issues and opportunities.
Gather and disseminate technical lessons learned, leading action plans for improvements.
Job Requirements:
Understanding of designing technical solutions to meet business needs within security constraints.
Proficiency in documenting designs clearly from an architectural perspective.
Knowledge of the lifecycle of information systems, including the acquisition and development of new technology, with a focus on automation.
Familiarity with application integration approaches, such as OLSC is desired.
An awareness of industry infrastructure and operating standards such as SQL, DB2, Active Directory, Virtual Machines, WebSphere.
Broad technical IT knowledge and expertise in developing concepts and scoping enterprise systems, especially in integrating disparate and distributed solutions in a defence environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and proven business analyst and project management capabilities.
