SEN Teacher
At the heart of every great school is a passionate teacher who brings more than just lesson plans to the classroom. We’re looking for an experienced SEN Teacher who understands that every child has potential, even if it takes a bit of creativity and patience to unlock it. If you’re ready to make a real impact on some of Derby's most vulnerable students, we want to hear from you.
Location: Derby
Contract: Full-Time, for the rest of the academic year
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM
Salary: £225 per day
The Role:
You’ll be working across three classes in a small, well-regarded school with a reputation for supporting staff and nurturing talent. The students are secondary-aged and present a range of needs, including autism, SEMH, EBD, and complex developmental delays. This isn’t a role for the faint-hearted; it’s a varied, hands-on position where you’ll need to be adaptable and resourceful, with an arsenal of strategies to engage children who require a bespoke approach.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:

* Experience working with a range of SEN needs, including autism, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and complex care requirements.
* A commitment to making a difference in the lives of children who face unique challenges.
* Ability to adapt techniques to meet the diverse needs of each student on a daily basis.
* Strong group facilitation skills to lead sessions and create a supportive learning environment.
Why This Role Stands Out:
In this role, planning is minimal, giving you the opportunity to focus on your interactions with the students and maintain a healthy work-life balance. The school understands that the key to effective teaching lies in a well-rounded support system, and they’ve built just that. Any class you cover will be well-staffed with SEN specialists and support staff, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity for the children’s progress.
What You’ll Be Joining:
* A school that is more than just a workplace – it’s a community.
* An environment that values dedication, innovation, and the drive to bring out the best in every child.
* A collaborative culture where staff are supported to grow professionally and encouraged to share ideas.
*
When to Apply:
This role starts immediately after the half-term, with interviews being held during and after the break. The school is committed to finding the right person, so they’re willing to wait for the ideal candidate.
