What you'll do:
We're looking for an Apprentice Project Manager to join our Rail projects sector. Telent Rail is maintaining operationally critical telecommunications systems that keep stations open and trains running, by providing integrated telecommunications solutions across many of the UK's rail infrastructures such as Network Rail, HS1, Crossrail and Train Operating Companies, TfGM, Transport Scotland and Mersey Travel. This will be a mixture of Telecommunications, Networking and IT projects.
Learn about the project lifecycle delivery, including supporting the following areas:
Support and learn about project scope, goals, deliverables, and risk and issue management, reporting, milestone achievements, financial management, comms and engagements, and benefits management.
Escalate project and programme issues where necessary and help manage the mitigation of risks and issues.
Communicate information and issues, including briefings and reports, to, or as requested by the Co-ordination manager.
Support the management, delivery, and maintenance of project plans and workstreams as directed by the Co-ordination manager.
Support the delivery of projects using a framework to ensure they are well planned, efficiently implemented, and predetermined benefits are realised.
Support the tracking/monitoring of the projects with an understanding of associated risks and escalating where appropriate for remedial action.
Work towards strict deadlines and various teams to assist on delivering key project objectives.
Gain an undertanding of project lifecycle aswell as gaining an insight into client requirements.Who you are & what to prepare for:
We don't require individuals with experience as we will provide full training in all aspects of the role. We are looking for candidates with the right attitude, commitment, and desire to learn.
Although supported throughout the programme by us at Telent you will need to take ownership of your tasks and personal development.
You will have to go pass a Drugs and Alcohol assessment prior to any offer of employment has been made.
Confident communicator as you will be dealing with internal/external stakeholders.
Rationale and calm under pressure.
The Requirements:
5 GCSEs grades 9 to 4. Specifically, in Maths, English and Science or an IT related subject (A* to C)
Minimum 2 A-Levels qualifications or equivalents (desirable)
Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
Be 18 Years old from January 2024
Be able to pass Security Clearance.
Be able to pass a pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol assessment and adhere to the Telent Drugs & Alcohol PolicyProgramme Specifics:
This apprenticeship is typically 18 months in duration.
Starting salary of £18,000 which will increase throughout the duration of the programme.
The qualification you gain will be a Level 4 Associate Project Manager.
Our chosen training provider Learning Skills Partnership will support you in obtaining your qualification.
You will work in an Agile model from both our office in Warwick location. You will be expected to travel to other client and telent locations.
On completion of your apprenticeship, we hope to offer you a full-time position with Telent where you can continue to pursue your career.
