For this role there are a couple of requirements my client has mentioned they are looking for apart from job spec requirments:
* Ex-Military (HM armed forces) preferred with 'main building' knowledge.
* Middle east knowledge.
The role would be working up to 3 years as a Senior Advisor with recent UK MoD experience.
Candidate requires a specialized set of skills that blend cybersecurity expertise with an understanding of transformational programs, military operations, strategic defense, and national security concerns.
Advanced Technical expertise required to advise on the following areas:
• Network Defense and Security
• Advanced Threat Hunting
• Military grade encryption and cryptography
• Incident Response, cyber espionage and post-attack forensic investigations.
• Cyber operations tool such as Cyber Command’s Unified Platform or Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2)
• SCADA and Critical Infrastructure Protection: Expertise in protecting critical military infrastructure (e.g., power grids, defense facilities) from cyber threats.
• Cyber Threat Intelligence to gather and analyze intelligence on global cyber threats, including adversaries’ capabilities, tactics, and strategies.
Required Experience and Skills:
Essential Skills/Experience:
• Leadership & Soft Skills
• Strong communication skills to brief high-ranking military officials, policymakers, and government leaders on cybersecurity risks, operations, and recommendations.
• Deep understanding of military and government cybersecurity standards, including DISA STIGs, NIST (Apply online only), and DoD cybersecurity directives.
• Ability to train and advise military personnel on cybersecurity best practices, threat landscapes, and emerging technologies.
• Experience at a senior level of designing, leading and implementing change management/defence reform programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior civilian policymakers and military officers and to rapidly build and cultivate relationships based on mutual trust, respect and credible strategic counsel.
• Capacity to exercise initiative – and to develop and propose priority areas where clear guidance may not always be available.
• Eligible for International Driving Licence.
• Cultural Awareness and an ability to adapt to local sensitivities.
• Proven self-starter able to work independently at various organisational levels and with personnel of all grades in multiple functional areas.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills – and experience of mentoring and training and sharing knowledge in an international setting.
• Strong coordination and synchronisation skills, necessary to work with other advisers and consultants.
• Programme management.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in related fields such as GSEC, GCIH, or GCIA.
• DoD-approved certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or CASP+.
• Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or Certified Penetration Tester (CPT) for offensive security operations
• Experience or knowledge of the International Defence Market.
• Basic Arabic language.
