Job Title: Finance Assistant
Salary: £28,000 p.a.
Hours: Full time (6 month contract)
Location: Colchester
Casanovas Recruitment Solutions is pleased to be working with one of the leading care home operators in the UK, exceptional care and service is at their heart. The Finance Assistant will provide essential support to the finance team, managing day-to-day financial transactions and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organised individual who is eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced financial environment.
Main areas of responsibility:
* Process and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Maintain financial records and update ledgers, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
* Assist with bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly
* Prepare and distribute invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments
* Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations
* Conduct data entry tasks for finance systems and spreadsheets
* Support the finance team with administrative tasks and ad-hoc reporting as needed
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding financial inquiries and transactions
* Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations
Required Skills & Desired Experience:
* Proven experience in finance, accounts or bookkeeping role
* Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft office
* Strong organisational skills
* Excellent Communication, both verbal and written
* Ability to work as a team as well as individually
