Senior AI DevOps Engineer
Duration: 4 months inially
£500 - £700 Per Day - Outside IR35
Location: Home based - Role can be performed fully remote
Our thriving Business Management Consultancy client has a need for an accomplished, UK based Senior Engineer with strong AI and DevOps skills, to perform a technical leadership role
The role will be split between operational support of Developer Platform and ensuring their development and infrastructure teams are able to get to production quickly and safely. There will also be project elements in supporting key initiatives – which will often find you working with new technologies. An aptitude to be adaptable, learn quickly, and to be able to provide your experience to new tools is a must.
As the AI and ML DevOps specialist, you will be expected to take a lead role in how to the organisation uses DevOps and Automation processes to support the Data Science and Data Engineering organisation. You will be responsible for process and automation improvement across the SDLC for Infrastructure and Software. Your outcome will be to improve the speed at which they provide innovation value to customers, increase the frequency of delivery the value, ensuring they make changes to production safely, securely, and when there are incidents you are responsible for ensuring the teams have the tools and process in place to improve our recovery times. Security, FinOps, and cost optimisation are also key elements.

Core DevOps responsibilities -
CI/CD pipeline creation
AI/ML model deployment
Building, deploying, and maintaining Azure AI resources
Experience required -
Extensive experience in IT platforms, either as support engineer, infrastructure engineer or software developer
Extensive experience in the support and maintenance of DevOps platforms and leading process automation and improvement initiatives
Experience with Cloud AI Services – Ideally Azure (such as Azure AI Services, DataBricks and Data Factory)
Deep understanding of various authentication protocols and identity management solutions
Strong networking skills and experience with virtualization technologies
Basic programming knowledge related to application security
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Terraform experience with proven ability to deliver and manage infrastructure in a DevOps environment
Technical leadership skills – being able to facilitate and drive technical alignment and bring stakeholders on the journey
Experience of working in a multi-disciplined team with an understanding of Cloud related concepts such as networking and security
Effective communication skills to engage with an ability to not only listen but also advise providing appropriate challenges and questions to find the correct resolution
Solid grasp of ITIL around Release, Deployment and Change Management
Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution and work effectively within a matrix organisation
Experience of working with software deployment and orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes from an identity perspective
