Job Description

We are seeking an experienced History Teacher to join our school in East London. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the national curriculum and be passionate about teaching History to young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons to students in Key Stage 3 & 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5.
• Meet the diverse needs of students by delivering lessons using differentiated instructional techniques.
• Educate students about literature and promote their appreciation of it.
• Engage students in reading aloud, discussions, and debates to develop their verbal skills.
• Developing students' writing skills and providing opportunities for critical thinking development.
• Ensure that the classroom environment is safe and flexible for students to learn effectively.
• Establish a collaborative and independent working environment for students.
• Monitor student learning and adapt instruction methods to meet individual needs.
• Inform parents or guardians about students' academic progress and social and behavioural issues.

Requirements:

• An excellent understanding of the national curriculum guidance for History.
• Ability to engage pupils in History as a subject by encouraging and inspiring them.
• Motivating pupils to reach their full potential with genuine enthusiasm.
• Ability to plan and design effective lessons using a variety of teaching methods.
• Establishing an environment that fosters English learning for the pupils.
• Safeguarding the welfare of children is a priority.
