Housing Options Officer

Slough

20 per hour (umbrella)

Full Time Contract (4 Months)

Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Housing Options Officer in Slough. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.

The job:

• To actively support the prevention of homelessness by providing a comprehensive housing options and advice service

• Fulfilling the statutory obligations in respect of homelessness and access to housing solutions and work with, partner organisations

• Undertaking timely and appropriate assessments of applicants seeking support

• Assisting clients to retain their existing accommodation or secure alternative housing when all other housing options or solutions are exhausted

The candidate:

• Experience in homeless prevention work is essential (2 years minimum)
• Experience of casework, file management and accurate recording of information
• A good understanding of the current homelessness legislation, Part 7, Homeless Reduction Act, Approach, Prevention work
• An understanding of welfare benefits
