TeacherActive are partnered with a local council and SEND/ Special Educational Needs and Disabilities team in Derby. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND/ Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

We are currently looking for a HLTA/ Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience of working with challenging young people to provide Key Stage 1 - Key Stage 4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis.

As they have been out of education for some time, they require support with their core subjects, Maths and English, however will be working at a lower level. The HLTA/ Higher Level Teaching Assistant will need to assess their current ability and reintroduce education into their routine whilst a suitable school provision is found. Lessons will take place either in a local Library or the young persons home.

Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must have strong understanding of SEND/ Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and a good level of Maths and English.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with SEND
• Level 4 Qualification
• Have excellent classroom management
• Have a kind and patient nature with a positive mindset
