Food Technician (Secondary School) – Cardiff

We are seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join a Cardiff secondary school. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting both staff and students in their food technology department.

Role Overview: As our Food Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our teaching kitchens. Responsibilities will include:

* Routine maintenance and safe, hygienic use of food preparation, storage, and cooking equipment.

* Overseeing department laundry and the hygienic handling and storage of food ingredients.

* Assisting in the preparation and safe storage of pupil projects and products.

* Daily clean-down of teaching kitchens to maintain high hygiene standards.

* Ordering ingredients and consumables as needed for classes.

Requirements:

* Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational or food preparation environment.

* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (required).

* Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workspace.

Hours & Pay:

* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (term-time only)

* Pay: £85.04 to £100 per day, depending on experience.
