Senior Quantity Surveyor

Industry: Civil Engineering, Highways

Location : Central London

Morson Talent are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client, working on highways projects based in London.

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will have extensive experience in managing large-scale civil engineering projects, ideally within the highways sector. Proficiency in NEC contracts is prefered but not essential.

The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor involves various responsibilities including preparing tender and contract documents, performing risk and cost control, managing subcontractor performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful financial management and completion of projects.

Skills:

1. Extensive experience with NEC contracts

2. Proven track record in managing highways projects

3. Strong risk, value management, and cost control skills

4. Excellent client-facing and negotiation skills

5. Ability to prepare and manage tender and contract documents

6. Proficiency in managing subcontractor performance

7. Strong analytical skills for cost forecasting and financial reporting

8. Understanding of UK health and safety regulations

9. Ability to manage and settle final accounts

Certifications & Standards:

• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Commercial Management

• Professional membership of recognised institutes (e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICES) is desirable but not essential
