TeacherActive are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coaches / Teaching Assistants to join various primary and secondary schools across Essex. These schools are looking for individuals who are eager to contribute to the school community, fostering a love of sports and supporting students overall development.

In this role, you ll be assisting with sports lessons, supporting teachers in a classroom environment, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning atmosphere for students. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact, supporting students with varying needs and abilities, both academically and physically.

Everyone employed by a school must have an upgraded DBS on file with the updating service. If you don't, we can help by providing you with a direct application link. An OSPC (Overseas Police Check) is required if you have worked abroad for more than six months in the last five years. All school environments will need to have these as a safeguarding measure.

• Assist in planning and delivering engaging sports and physical education sessions.
• Support classroom teachers with day-to-day lessons and activities.
• Supervise and manage small groups of students during activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Encourage and motivate students to engage in physical activities, promoting fitness and well-being.
• Provide individual attention and guidance to students who need extra support in their learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive school environment.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• A passion for sports, physical education, and working with children.
• Previous experience in a sports coaching, teaching assistant, or mentoring role (preferred, but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students.
• A proactive, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop in an educational environment.
