Data Engineer (Contract)

We have a requirement for a Data Engineer to join our client based in Leicester on an initial 4-month contract. My client is a Financial Services company, who specialise in Pension Solutions.

Details:

Data Engineer (Data Warehouse)

4 months (initial contract)

Hybrid Remote (Leicester)

£400/day (Outside IR35)

Key responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deliver robust ETL processes for the data warehouse (currently in SSIS).

Maintain and improve existing ETL processes, optimizing for automation, data quality, robustness, and clear logging.

Maintain technical documentation for the ETL & warehousing solution.

Conduct code reviews, pair program, and share knowledge with other team members.

Monitor and optimize the performance of SQL Server databases to ensure efficiency and reliability of the data warehouse.

Krey Skills / Experience:

Proficiency in data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing principles, with a strong understanding of database management systems.

Advanced knowledge of SQL (preferably T-SQL) and 3+ years' experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Experience with cloud services (Azure) and understanding of cloud-native data services.

Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server databases.
