A supportive and welcoming secondary school in Barnet, North London, are looking for a Science and Maths TA for a ASAP start. As a Science and Maths TA, you will be supporting secondary aged (11-16) students throughout the school day. You will predominantly be based in the Science and Maths departments, supporting students of mixed age and ability. As a Science and Maths teaching assistant, you will be supporting both the staff and students. You may be supporting students more generally within the classroom, or working on a 1-1/small group basis with students who need targeted support. The school is flexible with an inclusive ethos which ensures there are consistently high expectations for all. If you are looking to gain classroom experience in a supportive environment, this could be a great opportunity for you. This role would also suit a recent graduate who is considering teacher training in the future. They are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is keen to make a difference and support young people.

Required:

• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM based subject
• Interest in working with children (specifically with SEN)
• Experience working with secondary school children (age 11-16) in some capacity (desirable but not essential)
• Right to work in the UK
• Either have or be willing to get an enhanced DBS on the update service, plus provide two references

Responsibilities:

Exact responsibilities will depend on role but may include:

• Working with children aged 11-16 operating classes in various subjects.
• Helping children with special educational needs
• Engaging with students for 4-5 periods
• Treating children with respect and kindness
