Stonemason - City of London

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Stonemason to join our skilled team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for traditional stonework, a strong eye for detail, and experience working on both restoration and new construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Cutting, shaping, and carving stone to required specifications using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.

Working with various types of stone, including limestone, sandstone, granite, and marble.

Carrying out stone repairs and restoration work on historical buildings and monuments.

Measuring and setting out work to ensure precise fitting and alignment.

Ensuring all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations.

Liaising with clients and site managers to ensure work is completed to the highest standard.

Assisting with the maintenance and care of tools and equipment.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a stonemason, preferably with experience in both restoration and new build projects.

Good knowledge of traditional and modern stonemasonry techniques.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.

Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

CSCS card or equivalent

Desirable:

NVQ Level 2/3 in Stonemasonry or equivalent qualification.

Previous experience working on heritage or listed buildings.
