Stonemason - City of London

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Stonemason to join our skilled team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for traditional stonework, a strong eye for detail, and experience working on both restoration and new construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cutting, shaping, and carving stone to required specifications using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Working with various types of stone, including limestone, sandstone, granite, and marble.
• Carrying out stone repairs and restoration work on historical buildings and monuments.
• Measuring and setting out work to ensure precise fitting and alignment.
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations.
• Liaising with clients and site managers to ensure work is completed to the highest standard.
• Assisting with the maintenance and care of tools and equipment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a stonemason, preferably with experience in both restoration and new build projects.
• Good knowledge of traditional and modern stonemasonry techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• CSCS card or equivalent

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Stonemasonry or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working on heritage or listed buildings.
