The opportunity:
Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in Buckinghamshire, are actively seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to join their highly successful team with immediate effect on a Contract basis (Inside IR35). On offer to you is a competitive hourly rate, together with overtime available and payable at an enhanced rate. This is an on-going contract with even the possibility that this role may in the future become permanent for those that want it.
The role As the Facilities & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for all facilities and maintenance matters at the dealership and throughout the offices and workshops ensuring environmental and legal compliance and minimising down time and disruption through faulty machinery and tooling. This role is hands-on and a sound technical understanding of the site and equipment used in everyday operations is essential with excellent problem-solving and communication skills imperative.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of all fixtures and fittings (including but not limited to vehicle ramps, paint booths, lighting, air conditioning, and compressors), ensuring robust repairs to minimise business disruption and organising maintenance contracts with third parties where appropriate.
Controlling waste management for the site and ensuring compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
To ensure all maintenance/health and safety records are retained in line with legal and business requirements.
On-site coordination of cleaning/site team ensuring the site meets dealer operating standards and machinery is working as efficiently as possible.
Controlling of facility projects ensuring delivery of agreed specification within pre-agreed budgets.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Should ideally be qualified to at least HNC level in an Engineering discipline, although plenty of relevant experience will also be considered.
You will need to be an experienced Facilities Engineer / Maintenance Engineer who is used to managing all such matters relating to fixtures and fittings throughout the business.
You should have excellent communication skills.
A thorough understanding of all legislation that affects operations within the business is needed.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications is needed.It’s great if you also have the following
Experience of managing contract staff would be useful.
An understanding of processes relating to contractor working and health and safety record keeping would be useful.This position is available with immediate effect.
