Shifts: Monday-Friday(07:30-15:00)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Chef to join our team and ensure high-quality, nutritious meals for our students. The successful candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits. This role involves planning, preparing, and serving meals that comply with school guidelines and dietary requirements, providing students with balanced and appealing meal options each day.
Key Responsibilities:
-Menu Planning: Design seasonal and varied menus that adhere to nutritional standards and accommodate dietary restrictions.
-Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare meals from scratch, using fresh ingredients, and ensuring high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
-Stock Management: Order ingredients, manage inventory, and reduce food waste by efficient stock rotation and meal planning.
-Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, ensuring full compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
-Budget Management: Work within the allocated food budget, managing resources efficiently and minimizing waste.
-Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
-Allergy and Dietary Needs Management: Ensure all meals meet the dietary needs and allergen requirements of students with specific health needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Culinary Qualification: Relevant qualifications in food preparation or cookery (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
-Experience: Proven experience as a chef or cook, ideally within a school, nursery, or other similar setting.
-Knowledge of Dietary Requirements: Understanding of child nutrition and experience in catering for allergies and special dietary needs.
-Food Safety Certification: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
-Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
-Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and kitchen team members.
