Ignite Recruitment is working with our client, an award-winning multi-disciplinary construction company, to find an experienced Project Manager to join their team. You will play a key role in a high-performing, ambitious team, contributing to the successful delivery of M&E projects within the Leisure, Hotel and commercial sector.
Role Overview
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the execution of M&E projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage internal teams, oversee project delivery, and ensure client satisfaction, all while driving operational excellence and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Leadership: Take full responsibility for managing the delivery of allocated M&E projects, ensuring they meet agreed timelines, budgets, and quality specifications. Lead and inspire project teams to achieve project goals and exceed client expectations.
* Client Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring smooth communication and fostering long-term relationships to support repeat business.
* Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety management systems, setting a high standard for health and safety practices across the project.
* Cost and Budget Management: Oversee the financial performance of projects, ensuring cost targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
* Resource and Procurement Management: Ensure effective resource utilisation, manage procurement processes, and liaise with the procurement team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
* Team Coordination: Manage internal teams and collaborate across departments to ensure seamless project execution. Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
* Progress Monitoring: Track and report on project progress both internally and externally, providing regular updates to senior management and clients.
* Problem-Solving: Resolve technical issues, conflicts between specifications/drawings and tender submissions, and any design queries in collaboration with technical teams.
* Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractors and ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
* Quality Control: Ensure all projects comply with company quality assurance processes and standards, including the production of O&M manuals and the smooth delivery of commissioning and handover.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven Project Management Experience: A successful track record in managing commercial M&E projects valued between £100k to £4m.
* Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in guiding teams to successful project outcomes.
* Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of M&E systems, specifications, and project drawings.
* Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, contracts, and resource allocation.
* IT Competence: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
* Industry Knowledge: Understanding of internal business disciplines such as estimating, purchasing, and technical/commercial aspects of project delivery.
* Relevant Qualifications: Experience in building services or a related discipline
