The Role: Teaching Assistant

Start date: ASAP

Location: Durham

Pay Scale: £75.00 - £115 per day (DOE)

TeacherActive are looking for a Teaching Assistant in Durham who can drive. We have opportunities to work within a variety of schools. We create amazing rapport with our schools and support staff to find you the best suitable placements. The schools within the area strive to create a fun learning environment with the aim for every pupil to look forward to learning. We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant / TA to cover day to day, short-term and long-term placements. This is a great chance to widen your experience and have the excitement of working within local schools. You will have the guaranteed opportunity to support pupils and help them thrive within the school. Some of the roles we have are in remote areas with minimal public transport links, candidates with a driving license and personal transport preferred but not essential.

A successful Teaching assistant will have:

• SEND TA / SEND Teaching Assistant experience (desirable)
• Experience of supporting young people on a 1:1 basis (desirable)
• A good understanding of safeguarding and Child Protection
• Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
