Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience working with SEN, Autism, and Behavioural Needs? Join our team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant at a specialist SEN school in Wolverhampton.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support children and young people with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural challenges, in their learning and personal development.
Implement strategies to promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a tailored approach to each student's needs.
Assist in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions as required.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN, Autism, and behavioural needs in an educational setting.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Patience & Empathy: A caring and understanding approach, with the resilience to manage challenging behaviours.
Qualifications: Relevant training or qualifications in SEN (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential.
DBS Check: An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
