Salary: £20ph days, £26ph nights/Saturdays and £33.50ph Sundays and Bank Holidays
A Day in the Life in a CAMHS Team:
As a Band 5 RMN Inpatient Nurse in our CAMHS team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, person-centred care for young people experiencing mental health crises or acute episodes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, support, and manage care plans for children and adolescents with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, psychosis, and self-harm.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Carrying out comprehensive mental health assessments.
Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in collaboration with young people, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Providing therapeutic support and interventions.
Delivering crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed.
Working closely with other teams, including psychologists, social workers, and doctors, to ensure continuity of care and recovery.
Supporting young people through their inpatient stay, promoting their emotional and psychological well-being.
Ensuring the highest standards of care in a safe, supportive, and positive environment.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Current and valid registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
Proven experience in working within CAMHS or inpatient mental health settings is highly desirable.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
A compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a strong commitment to improving young people's mental health and well-being.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques is advantageous.
Desirable:
Experience in managing patients with complex mental health needs or in acute inpatient settings.
An understanding of safeguarding and risk management in a CAMHS environment.
