Senior Social Worker - UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children)

Are you an Advanced Practitioner with experience working within a UASC team?

London Borough of Lambeth are looking to expand their current team with a dedicated Social Worker looking for an opportunity to join a well-structured and organised team. This UASC role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Responsibilities include:

• The Social Worker will be required to support Looked After Children who are Unaccompanied in the UK.
• They will be required to support children and young people with all relevant aspects of their wellbeing, in line with Looked After Children procedures.
• Suitably experienced social worker required to support social workers
• Hold a complex case load of up to 5 complex children and be confident in their decision making
• Required to deputise for the team manager as appropriate
• To support team with duty tasks, undertaking complex case work, case consultation and managing group supervision
• Attend and chair meetings, prepare reports to a good standard for various audiences, quality assure pieces of work within the team
• Management of duty rota and duty tasks
• Required to attend the office 1-2 days per week.

Experience preferred:

• The Social Work candidate will need to have at least 3 years Social Work experience of working with Looked After children and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.
• Experience in carrying out Age Assessment would be desirable.

Minimum Requirements:

• HCPC Registration
• 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
• Eligibility to work in the UK
