Job Description: Data Engineer (South London)

Company Overview:
We are a recruitment agency representing a respected client in the construction industry. Our client specializes in electrical, mechanical, data and fire safety solutions and is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to support ongoing projects in South London. The successful candidate will be involved in pulling and terminating Cat6a cables to ensure the smooth operation of the company s network systems.

Position: Data Engineer
Location: South London
Hourly Rate: £20 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Pull and terminate Cat6a cables as part of the network installation process.
• Assist with the setup, testing, and troubleshooting of network equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
• Collaborate with project teams and other engineers to complete cabling installations in a timely and efficient manner.
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines while performing all tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of cabling work completed, including cable runs and terminations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any cabling-related issues that arise during installation or maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule and to specification.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in pulling and terminating Cat6a cables for network installations.
• Knowledge of basic networking principles and familiarity with related hardware.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring all cabling is done neatly and efficiently.
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients as needed.
• Willingness to travel to different sites in South London.
