About the role:
Join our dynamic team in Newham as a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) with a specialism in Challenging Behaviours, and be part of a school community that values growth, inclusivity, and excellence. As an SEN TA with Specialism in Challenging Behaviours, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with behavioural needs. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, implementing tailored strategies to manage challenging behaviours and promote positive learning experiences. This role is ideal for someone with resilience, empathy, and a deep commitment to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Application Requirements:
• Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students and colleagues.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Flexibility: Ability to adapt quickly to varying classroom dynamics.
• Qualifications: Relevant training or qualifications in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting students with challenging behaviours on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Implementing tailored interventions to help students achieve academic and social milestones.
• Assisting the class teacher in maintaining a structured and positive learning environment.
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Monitoring and reporting on students’ progress and behaviours.
