Caretaker Opportunity - Secondary School in Haringey, North London (Immediate Start)

• Previous Caretaker Experience: Proven experience in a caretaking role is essential, ideally within an educational setting.
• Strong Work Ethic: You must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and clean school environment.
• Maintenance Skills: Good knowledge of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and general upkeep. A good all-rounder.
• Attention to Detail: You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the school premises.
• Effective Communication: Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with staff, students, and external contractors.
• Positive Attitude: A proactive approach to solving problems and addressing issues is highly valued.

As a Caretaker at this Secondary School in North London, you will have a variety of responsibilities to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the school, including:

• Security: Locking/unlocking buildings, responding to alarms, and maintaining the security of the premises.
• Maintenance: Performing routine checks and minor repairs on heating systems, plumbing, lighting, and fixtures.
• Cleaning: Maintaining hygiene standards across classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and communal areas.
• Health and Safety: Implementing safety protocols, conducting fire drills, and reporting hazards or incidents.
• Groundskeeping: Carrying out basic maintenance tasks, such as gardening, litter picking, and snow clearing.
• Supervision: Coordinating external contractors for larger projects and maintenance work.
• Inventory Management: Managing stock of cleaning supplies and equipment, and ordering replacements as needed.
• Team Collaboration: Working closely with school staff and management to address maintenance and safety issues promptly.
