About the role:
This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Challenging Behaviours. As a key addition to the team, you will support a small class of 6–8 pupils with diverse behavioural needs, providing 1:1 and small-group interventions. You will collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to implement tailored strategies while fostering a safe, encouraging, and structured learning environment. Application Requirements:
• Proven experience working with children who have challenging behaviours or SEMH needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with pupils and staff.
• A patient, empathetic approach, with excellent de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and an understanding of SEN practices.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide targeted support to pupils with challenging behaviours, ensuring progress in both academic and emotional development.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioural Support Plans.
• Work closely with the SENCO, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.
• Lead small-group interventions aimed at developing social and emotional skills.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed.
